Privacy Policy
In effect from October 15, 2026. Run by Averrion. Questions: support@averrion.com
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account and the game: your email, your logins, your characters, and what happens on our realms.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted ads.
- Chat is stored so we can deal with reports of abuse.
- Payments go through payment processors and stores; we never see your full card number.
- You can see, fix, download or delete your data. Write to support@averrion.com.
The short version helps you read the rest; the full text below is what applies.
1.Who is responsible
Averrion (the independent developer of Averrion: Ascension, doing business as "Averrion") runs averrion.com and Averrion: Ascension and decides how your personal information is used (the "controller", in European terms). Questions go to support@averrion.com. If the game moves to a company (we expect Avernix Game Studios LLC), that company becomes responsible and we'll update this page.
2.What we collect
Your account: your email address, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password if you use one, your display name, when you signed up, whether you've confirmed your email, and the logins you connect to it (for example your Lich Souls, Steam or other platform account ID).
What you own: your purchases and other entitlements, and the license files we issue for solo play.
Your play: characters and everything about them (class, level, items, stash, progress, quests, lifetime statistics), the games you join, trades, leaderboard placings and seasons.
What you say: chat messages on our realms, whispers, reports you send, bug reports, and emails you send to us.
Technical information: IP address, game version, rough connection details, device and operating system information sent with bug reports or crash reports, and server logs (for example when you connected and from where, to keep the services secure and to find bugs).
Payments: when you buy something, the processor or store tells us what you bought, when, the amount, and an order reference. Card details stay with them.
On your computer: the game keeps settings, a login session, a license file and solo saves on your device (or in your browser's storage for the browser version). These stay on your device unless you send them to us.
We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 (see below).
3.Why we use it
- To run your account, sign you in, and keep your characters and purchases (to perform our agreement with you).
- To run the game online: matchmaking, trades, chat, leaderboards, seasons and realms (our agreement with you).
- To keep things fair and safe: stopping cheating, fraud, abuse, spam and attacks, and handling reports (our legitimate interest in a safe game, and legal obligations).
- To process purchases, refunds and chargebacks, and keep the records tax and accounting law requires (agreement and legal obligation).
- To fix bugs and improve the game, using aggregate statistics and bug reports (our legitimate interest).
- To send you account emails (confirmations, password resets, purchase receipts, important changes). Newsletters or marketing emails only if you choose to get them, and you can stop any time (consent).
4.What other players see
Your character names, classes, levels, the games you host, your chat messages in public channels, and leaderboard placings are visible to other players. Our public statistics pages show totals across everyone, never your personal details. Moderators can see more when they handle reports.
6.Where it's stored
Our providers run data centers around the world, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for transfers out of the EU and UK.
7.How long we keep it
- Account and game data: while your account exists. Deleted characters are kept for a while for support and to investigate item duplication, then removed.
- Chat logs and reports: as long as needed to handle reports and repeated abuse, normally up to a year; longer if needed for an ongoing case.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (often around seven years).
- Server logs: a short time, usually weeks, unless needed to investigate a problem.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within about 30 days, except what we must keep for the reasons above.
8.Your choices and rights
You can update your account details on your account page. You can also ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we have about you, and give you a copy you can take elsewhere.
- Correct it.
- Delete it, or your whole account.
- Stop or limit certain uses of it, or object to uses based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent you've given, such as for marketing emails.
Write to support@averrion.com from your account email. We'll answer within a month (or the time your local law sets) and may need to confirm it's really you. If you live in the EU or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California and other US states: you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We don't sell or share it that way. We won't treat you differently for using your rights. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out where the law requires.
9.Keeping it safe
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, signed login tokens, limited access, and providers with strong security. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise nothing will ever go wrong; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
10.Children
The services aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to support@averrion.com and we'll delete it.
12.Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect.
